Upgrade Jet Analytics Data Integration

This article describes how to upgrade Jet Analytics Data Integration to the latest version. Because Jet Analytics Data Integration is composed of services that may be running operations in the background, follow the steps below to ensure a smooth upgrade.

Note:

This article covers upgrading an existing Jet Analytics Data Integration installation. For migrating from the legacy Jet Analytics, see the Migration Tool article.

Pre-upgrade checklist

  1. Ensure all deployments have completed.
  2. Ensure no execution packages are currently running.
  3. Close Jet Analytics Data Integration.
  4. On the application server, open Services and stop the Jet Analytics Ingest Service and the Jet Analytics Execution Service.
  5. Right-click both the Jet Analytics Ingest Service and the Jet Analytics Execution Service, select Properties, and set the Startup Type to Disabled. New versions of these services will be installed in the upgrade steps below.

Upgrade steps

  1. Download the latest version of the Jet Analytics Ingest Service and Data Integration.

  2. Open the download folder, extract Jet AnalyticsDataIntegration.zip, and navigate to the JetAnalyticsDataIntegration folder.

  3. Extract Jet Analytics Ingest Service.zip and run Setup.exe to install the Ingest Service.

  4. Launch the Ingest Service Configuration and sign in. Select the Ingest instance to run on this virtual machine (VM). If you are running multiple Ingest instances across multiple virtual machines, repeat this step on each VM and select the appropriate instance.

  5. In Services, confirm the Ingest Service is running, then right-click it and set the Startup Type to Automatic (Delayed Start).

  6. In the same Jet AnalyticsDataIntegration folder, extract Jet AnalyticsDataIntegration.zip and run Setup.exe to installData Integration.

  7. Launch the Configure the Jet Analytics Execution Service in Install Jet Analytics Data Integration and select the instances for scheduled executions. In Services, confirm the Execution Service is running, then right-click it and set the Startup Type to Automatic (Delayed Start).

Post-upgrade checklist

  1. Open each instance by double-clicking it in Jet Analytics Data Integration. If prompted with a confirmation message, click Upgrade or Yes to upgrade the instance.

  2. As a best practice, update the data source providers.
  3. As a best practice, uninstall previous versions of Jet Analytics Data Integration using Add or remove programs in System Settings.
