Install Jet Analytics Data Integration
Note: Relates to Jet Analytics Data Integration 6744.1 and later versions.
Prior to installation, ensure the server has been properly configured according to the Jet Analytics Prerequisites. You also need at least one Ingest instance set up in the Portal and a user account that has been granted access to this instance.
Check for Prerequisites
Before proceeding, verify that your server meets all software requirements. See Jet Analytics Data Integration Prerequisites for the full list of required components.
Download Installation Files
Download the latest version of theJet Analyticsinstallation packages.
For prior releases and versions of Jet Analytics Classic, see the legacy downloads page.
Install Jet Analytics Ingest Server
- Unzip the Jet Analytics Ingest Server installation package and run Setup.exe.
- On the Choose Setup Type page, select the Typical or Complete option. Either option will install the service. Custom gives you an option to choose what to install.
- On the last page, ensure the Launch the IngestConfigurationService checkbox is checked to open the Ingest Server Configuration tool. If this is unchecked, the Ingest Server Configuration wizard can also be launched manually afterward.
Configure the Ingest Server Service
- At the start of the wizard, the Welcome page is displayed. Click Next. If you have previously run the Ingest Service Configuration tool, the Welcome page will show the previously saved settings.
- If your Ingest server is behind a proxy server, configure your proxy settings by checking the box and entering a server, port, and user account. Otherwise, leave the settings as default and click Next.
-
Sign in and choose the Ingest instance you want to use on this installation. The user signing in must have access to the Ingest instance in order to select it. For more information on granting access, see Grant and Revoke Access to Instances. Click Next.
- Specify the maximum concurrent execution tasks and the folder for storing downloaded data source providers. These can be left as default unless there is a specific reason to customize them. Click Next.
- Specify the Windows or Active Directory account you want to use to run the Ingest Server Service. If you are connecting to SQL Server data sources using Windows Authentication, the specified account must have the appropriate access to those servers. Enter the user in the format domainname\useraccount rather than .\useraccount. Specify the account or use the Local System Account, then click Next.
- Save your settings and start the Ingest Server Service by clicking Save.
- Open Windows Services to verify that the Jet Analytics Ingest Service is running.
Install Jet Analytics Data Integration
- Unzip the Jet Analytics Data Integration installation package and run Setup.exe.
- On the Choose Setup Type page, select your desired option. Typical and Complete will install the Jet Analytics Execution Service. Use Custom and select Do not install if you do not need the Execution Service — it can always be added later.
Configure the Jet Analytics Execution Service
To run scheduled execution packages for instances, the instances must first be set up in the Jet Analytics Portal.
The Jet Analytics portal is managed by the insightsoftware Support team. For assistance or additional information, reach out to Product Support .
Note:
Ingest tasks only require the Jet Analytics Ingest Service to run. Execution packages from Prepare and/or Deliver instances require the Jet Analytics Execution Service to run.
- Launch the Jet Analytics Execution Service Configuration app.
-
Sign in.
- Select the Prepare and Deliver instances you want the Execution Service to execute. Set the Max degree of Deliver instance parallelism — this determines how many Deliver instances can be executed simultaneously by the Execution Service.
- Click Save.
- Open Windows Services to verify that the Jet Analytics Execution Service is running. If it is not running, right-click on the service and select Start. To use a service account, right-click the service, select Properties, go to the Log On tab, change the log on option from Local System account to This account, enter the account in the format domainname\useraccount, provide the password, and restart the service.
