Adding a Data Source in Jet Analytics Data Integration

A data source is automatically created in Jet Analytics Data Integration when a data source connection is mapped to an Ingest instance in the Jet Analytics Portal. This article describes how to manually add data sources in Jet Analytics Data Integration using existing data source connections that have already been mapped to Ingest instances.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the data source connection has been added and is mapped to an Ingest instance before attempting to add a data source in Jet Analytics Data Integration.

Adding a data source in Jet Analytics Data Integration

  1. Double-click on your Ingest instance to open it.
  2. Right-click Data Sources and select Add Data Source.

  3. Enter the Name and Description of the data source.

  4. Select the Connection from the available connections configured in the Jet Analytics Portal.

  5. Proceed through the table selection and define a transfer task if needed. For additional details, refer to Tasks in an Ingest Instance.

On-Demand Prepare Ingestion

Note: On-Demand does not currently support Azure Data Factory (ADF) data sources.

When the Data on demand option is enabled in Jet Analytics Data Integration under Data Source > Advanced Settings, the data source will transfer data into Ingest storage before the Prepare instance ingests it. This works without configuring an explicit transfer task under the data source.

To enable the Data on demand option, follow the steps below.

  1. Right-click on your data source and select Edit.
  2. Click Advanced Settings.
  3. Check the Data on demand box.
