Add Deliver Instances

Note: Relates to Jet Analytics 6024.1 and later versions.

Deliver instances are added in the Jet Analytics Portal. You can add both the Deliver instance and its accompanying semantic endpoints, and edit the instance at any time to add or remove endpoints.

Add a Deliver instance

In the Jet Analytics Portal, navigate to Data Estate > Instances, click Add new instance > Add deliver instance.

Note: All connection credentials are protected with 256-bit AES encryption.

General

• Name: Enter the name for the Deliver instance.
• Description: Enter a description. This is displayed on the desktop and on the instance details page.
• Log Retention Days: Set how many days logs should be retained. The default is 90 days.
• Team Development: Enable to allow multiple developers to work on the instance simultaneously. This is not typically recommended for Deliver instances as they are relatively small.

Add endpoints

In the Add endpoints list, select the type of endpoint you want to add and click Add an endpoint. A form appears with the fields for the selected endpoint type. The Name field is required for all endpoint types.

• CSV Endpoint
• Power BI Premium Endpoint
• Tabular Endpoint
• Tableau Endpoint
• Qlik Endpoint

Note: Jet Analytics Data Integration must be refreshed to retrieve newly created Deliver instances and endpoints.

Edit a Deliver instance

In the Jet Analytics Portal, navigate to Data Estate > Instances.

1. Click on your instance to open the instance details page.
2. Click Edit, make the desired changes, and click Save.

Note: Jet Analytics Data Integration must be refreshed to retrieve the latest changes to Deliver instances and endpoints.

Delete a Deliver instance

In the Jet Analytics Portal, navigate to Data Estate > Instances.

1. Click Delete next to the instance. The Delete confirmation dialog appears.
2. Enter the instance name to confirm, add a comment (reason for deletion), and click Delete.

Test endpoint connection

Before deploying and executing a Deliver instance, verify that the endpoint connection defined in the Jet Analytics Portal is valid. In Jet Analytics Data Integration, right-click the instance and select Edit Instance.

Select the semantic endpoint from the list and click Test Endpoint Connection to verify connectivity.
