What is Jet Analytics Data Quality and Orchestration?

This article is intended for database administrators. Ensure the following tasks are completed by someone with the appropriate database administration privileges.

Jet Analytics Data Governance (DG) is a comprehensive tool that facilitates collaboration between IT and business users, ensuring that data governance objectives are aligned with business goals. Its real-time monitoring and remediation features enhance the reliability of data processes and simplify the data governance landscape. Whether the goal is to find exceptions in customer data or to orchestrate complex data processes, Jet Analytics DG provides a platform to address the diverse data needs of an organization, supporting a data-driven operational model.

Jet Analytics DG is a desktop application and web platform that contains two products: Jet Analytics Data Quality and Jet Analytics Orchestration.

The most common use cases for Jet Analytics Data Quality are:

  • Detect and correct data input mistakes causing errors in the data warehouse.
  • Ensure source data is updated correctly, avoiding issues such as empty exports from systems.
  • Identify and rectify mistakes in customer business processes.
  • Assign ownership to data errors.

The most common use cases for Jet Analytics Orchestration are:

  • Manage complex processes that require multiple schedulers in different locations.
  • Visualize execution packages and other processes in a process map for both on-premises and cloud solutions.
  • Enable business users to directly trigger execution packages and processes from the online process map, including re-running failed packages — supporting handover of first-level support to customers or support teams.
  • Handle processes dependent on reading flat files from third-party sources such as FTP.
  • Resolve frequent data process failures caused by technical issues.

Jet Analytics DG helps businesses gain control and trust in their data by monitoring it continuously to detect potential issues in data quality and system integration. It is a pragmatic, value-oriented platform designed to deliver immediate value without expensive or time-consuming implementations.

There are two Jet Analytics DG interfaces: DG Desktop and DG Web.

Jet Analytics DG Desktop

The desktop client is designed for Data Engineers and Data Stewards. It is a feature-rich Windows application for creating users, designing process maps, orchestrating processes, creating queries for different data sources, scheduling packages, defining objective groups, and more.

The main elements of the Desktop interface are:

  1. Navigation panel: Contains everything related to process orchestration and quality control, including processes, project maps, quality checks, schedule groups, and more.
  2. System related: The upper section contains everything related to a system, which is the highest level of organization in DG. User access can be assigned at the system level.
  3. General: Contains overall settings such as creating users, connecting to data sources, and configuring audit emails.
  4. Feature Selector: Switch between queries, processes, and other features, or navigate to the Start Page.
  5. Client Settings: Switch between services, configure tools, or access the help pages.

Jet Analytics DG Web

The web client is a lightweight interface for business users to view process maps and exceptions, and to run packages on demand. It does not include all the capabilities of the desktop client.
